8/19/2026 Longer Days Sportfishing

Longer Days had an incredible catch of blackfin tuna and mahi out of Cape Hatteras.

The blackfin tuna showed back up today in force. We started fishing on a couple different weedlines in the morning, caught 1 mahi and missed a couple billfish. One was a pretty little blue marlin on the teaser that switched over to another bait, but unfortunately didn’t stay tight for us. Heard the blackfin tuna were biting so we jogged a few miles to get there and it was game on once we put baits out. Longer Days Sportfishing Charters.

8/3 We had Kevin and a couple of friends fish with us Saturday. Caught our blackfin tunas early and tried to find some dolphin in the afternoon. The dolphins didn’t corporate so we wahoo fished our way back down the beach and jigged for jacks to finish the day! We are still trying to put together a make up for Friday the weather is looking beautiful. $1950 with mates tip included, split evenly between how ever many people sign up, call or text 757-870-1680

Action out of Hatteras on blackfin tuna.

We spent the first half of the day looking for the tunas. Fortunately, they were very cooperative for us! We decided we wanted to look for dolphin around lunch time so we came back in shallow and worked grass lines and patches after patches. We never did see the first dolphin today despite the efforts. Still a good day with some great weather! We have a few days still open in August, get up with us before they are all booked! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

We never could find a school, but we picked them on a grass line all day long. Still just a few days left available in August so get up with us to book! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

Despite the winds and sloppy seas, our walk on group had a good day today. We started on the tuna grounds and they were biting! We picked at them pretty steadily until we got tired of getting beat up by the waves, so we came back in shallow to a color/temperature change. We had a slow pick at a mixed class of dolphin in some calmer waters and ended the day on that! Plenty of fish to go around for everybody. The squid was spit out by a tuna when it came into the boat. We still have room for our Friday walk on so get up with us to go! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

We finally made it out after days of nothing but wind. The story of the day was lots of rain and the dreaded scattered grass! We worked hard for our mahi today and scrapped out about half of a limit. We spent some time on the tuna grounds, but it was heavily scattered with grass as well, which made it tough to get a bite. We are ready for the rain to move out and to see some sunshine! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

7/25/2026 Speck-Tackler Light Tackle (Pamlico Sound)

Action out of Hatteras.

Kevin Willish and his son Stephen, have been fishing with me for quite a few years. But this trip Stephen brought his 9 year old daughter Caroline for the first time, and she caught her very first bluefish! She is a very smart little girl and we had a couple in depth conversations in between fish bites. Stephen has 2 other younger daughters, 6 and 3, so hopefully one day I'll be able to take all of them fishing at the same time. We picked up a few Spanish mackerel and a red drum also. We had a blast in the rain today with Rovi and his boys! We caught a limit of mahi before 9am. Then we moved on to the blackfin tuna and caught a mess of them too. And then we went looking for wahoo and went 2 for 2! What a great day offshore! We are still looking to fill some spots for our walk on tomorrow. Give me a shout if you’re interested! 757-870-1680 Sea Angel Sportfishing Charters.

Sea Dream had a good catch of bluefish inshore.

We had a half day trip today, and we didn’t have to go far. There were fish working right in the inlet, so we made our day picking at good sized bluefish and a lone Spanish mackerel! Fishing was good along the beach as well as offshore today, so get up with us to take advantage! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

7/17/2026 Sea Dream Sportfishing

  • Sea Dream group standing behind a spectacular day's catch.
  • Sea Dream customer holding up nice wahoo.
  • Fish box full of tuna on Sea Dream.

Today’s walk-on charter trip was a success and we have plenty of fish to be split up! We swapped between tuna and dolphin fishing a few times to end up with our limit of dolphin and all the tuna we wanted. We made the decision to come back to the inshore change and look for a wahoo and we went 1 for 2 on those before calling it a day. It was fast action today with tuna busting on bait and dolphin jumping out from grass patches. Great fishing and beautiful weather! When folks can't find a full group they should give us a call and see if we can get them on one of these make-up walk-on charters! We still have a couple days open in July and August. Get up with us to book! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

7/9/2026 Open Waters Sportfishing

  • Great Cape Hatteras charter catches on Open Waters.
  • Great Cape Hatteras charter catches on Open Waters.

Today Open Waters hooked up blue marlin which was quite a surprise because they never expected to catch a marlin in just 190 feet of water but there he was. Great fun with this great group.

  • Great Cape Hatteras charter catches on Sea Dream.
  • Great Cape Hatteras charter catches on Sea Draem.

Scattered grass has been the name of the game lately. We worked it as hard as we could and picked a few dolphin out of it. We decided to look for the tunas, and we made a good catch of them before we got swallowed up in more scattered grass. We came back in shallower to get out of it. Had a sailfish come into the spread and we fed a bait back to it. Missed another sail and a few other mystery bites. We had a wahoo sky on a bait while we fought the sail, but it didn’t come tight. The best part of the day, we dodged most of the heavy rain! We have a couple days open in July still, including Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th. Get up with us to book! Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

7/8/2026 Stomy Petrel Sportfishing

Busy fishing day on Stormy Petrel for this charter crew.

Capt. Patteson said he started down near "The Point" this morning and then wandered around finding lots of scattered grass and lots of skipjack tuna, but only ay few mahi. Closer to the shelf break and after lunch there were quite a few blackfin tuna and we caught a couple of keeper yellowfin tuna and then lost another to a shark.

This will be the last Stormy Petrel fishing report likely for this season. Capt. Patteson has moved his boat and currently running his charters our of Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.

7/8/2026 Sea Dream Sportfishing

Lots of fish for Sea Dream charter group.

We finally got a break in the weather so that we could safely run offshore. We landed right on the tuna and had all they wanted by 9:45am. We were back in early and all cleaned up! We have a couple days left open in July and a few in August still, so get up with us to get fishing! Hopefully this crazy weather sorts itself out soon. Sea Dream Sportfishing, Hatteras

7/7/2026 Gecko Sportfishing (Ocracoke)

Great catch for the Gecko Ocracoke crew offshore.

7/7 We had good fishing yesterday with plenty of mahi and even a blue marlin crashed the party. 7/8 We made a quick trip to the boatyard this morning to replace a cutlass bearing. Thanks to Hatteras Boatyard for getting us in and out like a nascar pit crew. 252-921-0095 Gecko Sportfishing Charters (Ocracoke).
